At Connect, we strive to make parental involvement in education as good as it can be. We do this by working with our Members, parents and education partners and by delivering a range of training schemes and projects. Read our Manifesto which sets out our priorities here.
We are an independent charity funded by membership. We do not receive any local authority or government grant funding. We are pleased to work with partners on specific projects that support parental engagement in education and that deliver results for children and young people.
Our Members are a mixture of Parent Councils, Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and other parent groups who pay for membership or have membership paid for them by their local authority. We are also now accepting parents, educators and students as individual Members. We offer four levels of membership for Parent Councils and PTAs and two levels for parent groups/clubs.

The history of Connect, formerly Scottish Parent Teacher Council, is the story of parental engagement in education in Scotland. We have evolved from our early days in 1948, when parents met around a kitchen table, to the highly professional organisation of today!

Our Board of Directors comprises a mix of parents and teachers (the Chair must always be a parent). We can also appoint Directors who can bring a particular skill to the Board eg business, legal or accounting skills
