Scottish Government Uniform Guidance is published - Connect responds

The Scottish Government has published its national school uniform and clothing guidance.

Gavin Yates, Executive Director of Connect, said:

'It’s pleasing to see a practical approach to school uniform. Highlighting the need to communicate constructively with parents and carers is particularly welcome. We look forward to schools bringing forward their own uniform policy reflecting this national guidance, and involving children, young people and parents in discussions to develop that school uniform policy.'

'However, it is disappointing that we couldn’t get this clarity before the start of the school year. The guidance does offer a positive approach going forward. It clearly recognises that change is best delivered when children, parents and schools can work in partnership.'
