5th September 2024
The Schools (Residential Outdoor Education) (Scotland) Members Bill was introduced to the Scottish Parliament by Liz Smith MSP on 20 June 2024. It will establish that all pupils in state and grant-aided schools will have the chance to experience at least four nights and five days of residential outdoor education during their school career. The Scottish Parliament's Education, Children and Young People Committee is currently examining the Bill before Parliament can debate and vote on its progress to the next stage.
As part of this work the Committee conducted a call for views so it can create a report for MSPs. You can read Connect's response to this call here.
