The Scottish Government is consulting on draft revised guidance for the Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006.
This Act sets out the rights of parents to be involved and engaged with their children’s education. The guidance is modernised and updated. It explains the purpose of the legislation and the duties placed upon local authorities, schools and headteachers to involve and engage parents in their children’s learning and school lives.
The review is also an important opportunity to put policy and practice around parental engagement at the front and centre of Scottish education.
