Connect's Report on Support for Children and Young People's Mental Health

14th January 2020

We asked parents and carers about their confidence in supporting their child's mental health and about their experiences. 256 parents and carers shared their views and also told us about how they believe the available support and information needs to improve, quickly. Parents and families are looking for information and advice from schools so they can understand better how to support their children.  Parents are also keen for openness about mental health, so that everyone can work together around children.

Read our hard-hitting report here.

We have gathered the individual comments here - they tell a powerful story of parents struggling to support their children and young people. We're calling for changes in how schools work with families around mental health and wellbeing and we're adding our voice to the calls for faster progress in making counselling services available to children and young people in every school.
