Support Organisations

The organisations below offer support and information to young people and their families. We include links to organisations which share Connect's values of inclusion, tolerance and respect - email comms@connect.scot with details of organisations you think would be helpful. 

  • Beat Eating Disorders: Beat's website includes information to understand and support those dealing with eating disorders. The organisation also offers free online support and information for parents and carers and also elearning for those working in schools via two elearning hubs.

  • Child Bereavement UK provides information and support for bereaved families. Visit the website here for more details.

  • LGBT Youth Scotland: This well-established organisation provides a range of services and opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex young people aged 13–25 across the country. It also delivers the LGBT Charter programme to schools, organisations and businesses. LGBT Youth Scotland and Scottish Trans Alliance have produced Supporting Transgender Young People: Guidance for Schools in Scotland  for those working with transgender children and young people. It includes information which is useful for parents and families of transgender young people too.
