Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 Guidance and Duties for Local Authorities, Schools and Parent Councils

The Parental Involvement Act of 2006 places several duties upon local authorities, schools and Parent Councils in relation to involving parents in their child's education and in their child's school.  These important duties, which include supporting the establishment of Parent Councils, are set out in Connect's resource so that schools, Parent Councils and local authorities can ensure that these duties are fulfilled.
