  • The former Scotland's South East Improvement Collaborative (SEIC)'s film about unconscious bias and parental engagement is here.

TED Talks and Presentations on School/Parent Relationships and the Importance of Family Engagement

  • Building relationships between parents and teachers by Megan Olivia Hall from the United States is here.  Megan calls for parents and teachers to reach out to one another to close the attainment gap. 
  • American Karen Mapp of the Harvard Graduate School of Education looks at the basics of family engagement and its importance to children's attainment here. She describes 'fortress schools', 'come if we call' schools, Open Door schools and 'partnership schools'.  She also delivers a talk on Linking Family Engagement to Learning here.

Sutton Trust 

The Sutton Trust's Parental Engagement Fund supported a range of parental engagement projects in England. The project reports provide useful evidence-based findings.

Fraser of Allender Institute

Research findings from the Fraser of Allander Institute show that composite classes do not impact negatively on children's attainment, contrary to the fears of parents about composite classes. Read the summary report here.
