There are a number of grants and payments to support families on low incomes with young children. You may be eligible if you receive certain benefits or if you are under 18 or 18 or 19 and dependent on someone who is in receipt of benefits. The Scottish Child Payment is for eligible children aged 6 to 16.
There is also the Education Maintenance Allowance for young people who stay on at school and are from low income families.
A Young Carers' Grant is available as is a Job Start Payment.
