Connect's response to the Care Inspectorate Consultation on its new draft A Quality Framework for Early Learning and Childcare argues for parental engagement in children's learning to be embedded throughout.
Parental engagement is not an 'add-on' - to be meaningful and to improve children's outcomes, it needs to be included and factored in to all aspects of early learning and childcare. Learning as a community, rather than 'experts' taking the lead, is the best way to build trust and positive relationships with parents and families.
