Scottish Government publishes its National Action Plan on Relationships and Behaviour in Schools 2024-2027 and Connect responds

15th August 2024

The Scottish Government has published its National Action Plan on Relationships and Behaviour in Schools 2024-2027.

Gavin Yates, Executive Director of parents' organisation Connect, said:

'Connect welcomes the Action Plan's focus on relationship-based approaches and shared understanding. Bringing children and young people, parents and staff into discussions about positive behaviour is crucial. A whole school community approach is the most effective way of ensuring everyone can work and learn in supportive schools where kindness, inclusion and respect are the responsibility of all.

Connect will continue to consult with parents across Scotland to ensure that their views on the implementation of these plans are properly understood, communicated, and acted upon.'
