The Scottish Government has published its progress report on its Additional Support for Learning Action Plan. This Action Plan sets out how the Government intends to carry out the recommendations from the Angela Morgan Review on additional support for learning.
Reading the report, we are very disappointed that insufficient progress has been made on the recommendations from the Angela Morgan Review. Very little is reported in this update except for discussion and delay. Those families with children with additional support needs who had high hopes for change are still waiting for improvements. Change must happen; we'll be pressing the Scottish Government for the recommendations to be urgently progressed without further delays. Our parent/carer surveys over the last 18 months repeatedly show children and young people with additional support needs have been even more disadvantaged. This has to change.
