Connect Members - Scottish Education: A Guide for Parent Councils, 21 April, Online

Learn how schools are organised, how decisions are made at local and national level, and where Parent Councils fit into the wider educational landscape. The session will highlight practical ways Parent Councils can engage with schools, local authorities, and education partners to effectively represent parents’ views.

Join us for an informative and practical session designed to help Parent Councils better understand Scottish education and their rights and responsibilities within it. We will explore relevant legislation, inspection and improvement processes, and how Parent Councils can contribute to school improvement and positive outcomes for children and young people.

The session will finish with an open Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and get tailored advice for your Parent Council. It will run from 8-9pm. Places are free but booking is essential.
