Skills Development Scotland

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is the national skills body charged with career education, progression in learning for all ages and helping people to find their career pathways.  Through the SDS website My World of Work as well as careers advisors, SDS provides career education throughout school, helps young people as they make course choices and as they investigate their post-school options for learning, apprenticeships or work.

Career education is the development of the skills to fit our understanding of ourselves (interests, abilities, knowledge) with career pathways. SDS plays a key role in driving the success of Scotland’s economic future, working with partners to help individuals to reach their potential, and liaising with schools, colleges and industry to ensure that education delivers a workforce which is ready for future employment. Visit the SDS website here or follow SDS on Twitter.
